COMBINE CLASSIC PRINTING PROCESSES WITH CUTTING EDGE DIGITAL NEGATIVE TECHNOLOGY

The Palladium printing process is one of the most beautiful alternative processes available. Like many alternative processes, a contact negative the size of the print is required. This workshop combines these exquisite classic printing processes with cutting edge digital negative techniques to yield beautiful fine prints.

LEARN HOW TO CALIBRATE THE PALLADIUM PRINTING PROCESS AND MAKE A DIGITAL NEGATIVE

In this hands-on, intensive two and 1/2 day workshop, students will learn how to calibrate the Na2 Palladium process for their use, prepare their image for printing and create a digital negative to produce a fine print.

LEARN HOW TO COAT AND PREPARE PAPER FOR PALLADIUM PRINTING

Working closely with Ryuijie Douglas, participants will become familiar with the Palladium printing process, learn how to coat and prepare paper, and then expose and print their image.

Pre-Workshop Guidelines

After signing up, please send 5 jpeg files to zach@thewestoncollective.org to be made into digital negatives before the workshop. These jpeg files must be perfectly edited, saved at 300dpi and with the image size 4x5 inches. We will run through the process of making a digital negative on Saturday, but to save time for more printing we will make digital negatives for you.
